wisdom is born from meditation

Wisdom is born from meditation.
Not to meditate is loss.
Know the difference between gain and loss.
Make the choice to walk where wisdom grows.

The Dhammapada is one of the smallest Buddhist texts on my shelf, but I still haven’t made it all the way through…

I read one verse and my cup is full. Actually, it tastes so nice, I keep rereading the same verses over and over, always curious what’s coming next, but not wanting to waste a drop of the one I’m sitting with at the moment.

Just these four lines, I could spend days sipping.

Has there been a single moment spent in meditation that I regret? Have I ever looked back in disappointment at a meditation session and thought, “Wow, what an idiot I’d been!”?

No, although, there are countless other times I look back with such thoughts!

Maybe one day, when I’m really wise, I’ll be able to catch myself in the moment…

  1. I love your blog soooo much. These four lines really made me think! Keep the inspiration coming, you’re helping my wisdom grow every time I find a good blog post on this site.

Oh, and keep posting them to Reddit, we love them there.
