another hike to Yeonju Dae

Standard

It took me so long to find this place, now I can’t get enough of it!

I had an unexpected day off today, so I took the opportunity to see the fresh colors of spring budding in the mountains. There still wasn’t much green at the top, but the way up was wonderful.

It rained a bit and was blowing frigidly at the top, there was even a few seconds of hail, but it made for some rather dramatic backdrops. After a woman working at the temple offered me a cup of nut tea, everything seemed to warm right up!

Bongeunsa is tucked in there somewhere around the center, couldn’t quite figure out where, though…

    • I lingered for a while, I stopped to take lots of pictures, but it’s about an hour and a half or less straight up, a bit easier coming down. From Gwacheon is probably the straightest path to the top.
